The Woman of the Future - strong, confident and fulfilled, who will thrive in the hard months and years to come - has learned from the past. She's seen the good times, and the bad. She's developed wisdom, discernment and endurance, and has the understanding of life's true priorities that only experience brings.

She has enjoyed a liberated, equal-access education, and has made informed choices about her career and family life. She realises that no-one can truly 'have it all' - at least not all at once - and still live a happy, balanced life. She has learned how to make hard decisions, and to live with the consequences. She understands that, sometimes, the hardest thing to do is also the best and most loving thing.

She's survived financial rollercoasters, her personal 'boom and bust' cycles, so the harsher economic times ahead will not phase her. She will simply budget even more shrewdly, prioritise even more thoughtfully, and have the mature dignity not to flounce and grouch when she can no longer afford a particular treat. She knows it's true that 'the best things in life are free', and that giving really can be more fun than receiving.

The Woman of the Future - a future with so many worrying uncertainties - knows from experience that healthy relationships are vital to both career success and a happy personal life. She has probably concluded that greed, cruelty and promiscuity are bad for everyone, whilst generosity, kindness and faithful love are beneficial all round. She will know that broken hearts can mend, and that grief does abate with time. She knows, deep in her heart, because she has seen it happen, that good can come out of bad, and love ultimately overcomes wickedness.

The woman with such wisdom, who copes with whatever life brings, is not worried what others think of her. She is confident in her own identity, mentally and physically. She keeps herself well-informed because it interests her. She starts a new hobby because she enjoys challenging herself. She eats healthily because she feels better and more energetic that way. She styles her hair and her clothes according to her own tastes, not the dictates of fashion. She glows with health, confidence, and inner beauty. She is respected and loved.

This woman will flourish in the times ahead. Can you become like her? Look deep inside yourself: you already are.
