Around the house she runs
Laughing aloud with glee
Pounding her feet like drums
She cries "catch me, catch me!"
Unabashed and unafraid
She tells you how she feels
Rejects the food you made
Wants beans with all her meals
Reciting Twinkle Star
She jumps upon the bed
She will fly so very far
But watch out for her head!
You won't be mad for long
Your rules will not faze her
We all laugh to hear her say
"Whatever, loser!"

across the dappled water
I hear the frost break
underfoot, like glass
Horned and hooved,
