Once upon a time, there was a school of fish that consisted of papa and mama fish Cosmo and Wanda. They were a quiet couple who kept to themselves most of the time. In the little town of Wonderland, they were the odd couple due to the fact they had no children. With them just moving in next to a family of shrimp who had three boys, they were really hit hard with the notion of not having any children of their own. One day the shrimp adults came over to Cosmo and Wanda's house to bring a house warming gift to show a sense of hospitality and compassionate vibe for the neighbors. Little did the shrimp family know that their neighbors did not have any children and had made their gift with the thought in mind by adding some items for children in the welcome basket was just a expected occurrence for their nature. As they walked to the door, they prepared themselves with something nice to strike up a conversation and get to know the fish family better. As Cosmo answered the door and invited the family in, Wanda came from in the kitchen and everybody introduce themselves. The shrimp family was a little concerned that the fish family children had not appeared while the conversations were going on. Cosmo saw the concerned look on their faces and asked was something wrong. The shrimp family played it off and just easily brought up the subject of children and how they had three precious boys. Wanda looked disturbed by the mentioning of the children and quietly stated that they had no children. As everything was winding down, the shrimp family remembered they had to go get ready and head to the meat market to buy their groceries for the week. In the process of saying their good byes the two families set up a time and date within the week to combine the families for a little dinner to really welcome them into the town.
In the meantime, Wanda had been thinking about the shrimp family and the three little boys that she saw at the time were playing a game of catch outside in the yard. This image made her wonder how different her life would be if she and Cosmo decided to have children. She always wanted children a boy and girl would do, but Cosmo was worried about their timing and how they would be financially stable in taking care of children and trying to provide their needs. The two had talked about children when they had gotten married and Wanda could tell that Cosmo was a little undecided and would change the subject as fast as he could. Wanda grew up with a large family
