Admire me only from a distance as you would a flame.
There is nothing to be gained by my capture but scars.
Do not become lost in times great riddle.
Do not want what can not be had.
Such dramatic flare, such tragedy.
Seducing, enticing, using ancient wisdom and hackneyed cliche's.
A snare set completely by accident by that which can not be trapped.
To love it truly is to never wish it captured.
So stand in who you are and dream "What if?"

such a beauty we do behold;
wild and free until captured,
some young and some are old.

I watch from my window each evening at dusk
As the herons fly home to their roost
They come one by one - or sometimes in flocks
O'er
I long to run wild and free to chase rainbows,
to be infused with all life's goodness,
to have blessings chase me and
I know what you see when you see me,
A creature to keep in captivity
So, you wish to abduct me,
And hold me hostage indefinitely
Encounter
Light and dark at play
across the dappled water
I hear the frost break
underfoot, like glass
