Bottles and diapers by the score
Booties, one-sies, so much more
There is so much I must remember
Feeding time and when to burp her

I am a first-time mommy
And I'm sure that I'm not ready
For this huge responsibility
That looms so large in front of me

The Lord has blessed me with a child
To save me from a life gone wild
A tiny life to shape and mold
Life in a balance I must hold

I'll guide her in a loving way
Protecting her both night and day
Teach her of our Savior's love
Showered down from up above

She will know of faith and prayer
And that life is never fair
The ups and downs along the path
Are smoother if your heart hath

Love for God, neighbor, and friend
And faith to last until the end
These are the things that she will know
A love for him in her to grow

So, even though I'm overwhelmed
I can make it to the end
I will pray to God each day
Asking for guidance along the way
