Is man a creation of God or God a creation of man?

What a question! What came first the chicken or the egg? If our world was created by a series of cataclysmic events in the universe then who created the universe? And lastly another favorite: Who created the creator?

All are great questions. A person of faith like me would say that God definitely created man. A scientist would look around us and try to find reason and logic in all things. A person of faith also looks around and tries to find reason in all things. However a Christian sees the wonder, imagination, and beauty that is in the world around them and says to himself: Only God could create such a place. Something this great does not happen by accident. Even rainbows have a very simple explanation: Genesis 9:13 I have placed my rainbow in the clouds. It is the sign of my covenant with you and with all the earth.

Is man a creation of God or God a creation of man? This is a question that will ultimately be answered in the end. I struggled with this same question most of my life. It wasn't until I finally submitted to God, began to read the bible and began to attend church that I became comfortable with God. I now realize how great of a presence he has in our lives. As far questions like what came first the chicken or the egg, and who created the creator. I have no idea! Only God does and when we are ready to know he will tell us. In the mean time I know two things for sure: There is a God, and I am not him! Romans 11: 36 For everything comes from him and exists by his power and is intended for his glory.

We see God everywhere we look. Those of us who deny God, have back-slidden, or are suffering great losses and pain ask questions like: where is God when we need him. Why are my prayers never answered? If God is always with us and all around us why can't I see him? So God says to all of us: 1 Peter 1: 6-7 in this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that your faithof greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by firemay be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.

The bible also says the kingdom of God is at hand. Therefore if we seek God and approach our life in a Christian manner God will make himself openly apparent in our lives. If we seek him we will find him. The kingdom of God is at hand; we need to open our hearts and minds to the Lord and he will be revealed to us. We will see the forest through the trees so to speak. James 4:8 Come near to God and he will come near to you.

Another thing I have learned in my spiritual growth is that God answers all prayers in his time not ours. Jeremiah 29:11-13 For I know the plans I have for you, "declares the lord", plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

So my answer is defiantly God created man. If we begin to build a relationship with God and live through God we will begin to truly understand his role in this world. We will be at peace with his creation and accept him as our creator. Who can look at the creation of man, animals, this world, the universe or your child and not feel and see the work of our Lord God.

Genesis 2:7 Then the Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground. He breathed the breath of life into the man's nostrils, and the man became a living person.
