Born at only twenty-three weeks
She was so small and frail
All the tubes and monitors
Made her skin look very pale
I was so very frightened
I prayed to God above
Please save my baby girl
You sent for me to love
The Doctors seemed quit positive
They said she was a fighter
Her Daddy wrapped his arms round me
I held on to him tighter
For four longs weeks we waited
Minutes passed by like hours
She fought and struggled for her life
This beautiful child of ours
And then the big day finally came
The Doctors said she's past
All the hurdles and the challenges
She out of danger at last
I thanked the Lord for her small life
I went to see her there
The nurses dressed her in a shirt
It read "Handle with care"
