Poetry: Locked out your heart

by Amy Wilber

Created on: April 01, 2009

LOST

I walk the dreaded path,

of knowing definitely,

that our bondage will break.

You once told me,

I'll be there for you.

Now I'm not so sure,

if it will be true.

The light dims,

each time we speak.

The tenderness

vanishes with a thought,

That separation is better.

To find another beloved,

who holds our hearts dear.

Who is right?

Who is wrong?

Who is to blame,

for the shattering

of two lone hearts?
