Golf is not an exciting sport filled with top athletes. It simply is a slow paced day dream of a sport, where only the rich really gather to watch and be entertained by the hits and misses of 18 holes of nothing. The most disappointing sports in the world are owned by Golf's witless attempt at entertainment. If you are not playing the game yourself, you're not going to enjoy this sport, it is not a spectator sport that involves entertaining characters or anything like that, it is just a slow process of hits, misses, and quiet sounds of nature.

With the new ad campaigns surrounding Tiger Woods as a great golfer, you would imagine the sport becoming more exciting. The excitement of golf is really summed up in the final moments where someone finally wins and is way under par. Consider the fact that these programs require commentators and audience members to be very silent most of the time. We are talking about hushed whispers at times, and even the broadcasters don't talk much, they simply wait and comment, wait and comment. If you watch Baseball there is entertainment in the broadcasters covering the information, and you get to see a lot of action, with golf, it's a single person sport with lots of low tones and lackluster coverage.
The sport has 18 holes. These holes can take up to 6 attempts to get the ball in place. These are complicated by lots of pauses between shots for the competitor to concentrate on his next move. The game of golf is like watching a full motion game of chess. It offers no real fun, but if you're into watching paint dry, you're going to be thrilled at the motion involved in watching the cerebral assassins of golf play their so called game.
If you're not a fan of slow moving games, you are going to hate golf. Golf is never speed up, it is not like miniature golf and really provides no real surprise. Baseball can be enjoyed at the stadium or at home, and it really tries to engage you at times. If you're not a big fan of baseball because you find it boring, then you aren't watching it with discerning eyes. Baseball has a lot of intricate moments and a lot of great action every inning. Whether it is the pitcher throwing a fast ball or the players rushing to get someone out, the game is like poetry in motion that is far better in real time than golf.
At the pinnacle of golf glory, it is still a very boring game. It requires absolute silence and brevity of audience attention for it to be entertaining. When something great happens, your claps and cheers are subdued within moments because someone needs to think their counter move.
