If there are times you simply do not feel incline to rise with the sun and would prefer to stay in bed because getting up will mean the new day will be a repeat of the miseries you experienced yesterday, I ask you to still yourself and listen.
You should hear birds chirping and hopping about from tree to tree as they partake of the daily bread God has provided. Is it not amazing they never worry, even though they are not endowed with human faculties, they still have the expectation they will be nurtured each day. Why can't we foster that same mindset?
Despite everything that is happening, we have so much for which to be thankful. Instead of greeting your mornings with worry and pessimism, greet them with cheer and thanksgiving. Tell yourself, "I will not worry today or tomorrow, because God has provided all my needs." Do not simply utter the words, believe them with all your heart and go about your life with as much normalcy as possible. Instill this mindset in your children as well and you will be surprised at the results. Faith and belief in God and in His ability to supply all your needs is a way of life and if you cultivate and sustain that mindset, God will always set you either above the fray or provide you with an exit strategy.
Too often we become so caught up in the turmoil of the world that we overlook all God's wonderful creations; we take all His natural beauty for granted. So if I have not convinced you not to worry, think about life itself which is rather short. Do not spend it fretting and worrying. Take time and enjoy it and believe Jesus when He said one of the reasons He came to the world was that we could not only have life, but to have it more abundantly. Therefore, the next time you feel overwhelmed by what is happening to or with you, take a walk outside your immediate neighborhood. Go to a park, a museum, a space center, or take a stroll in the country.
This is springtime, a new beginning, and all plant life is in their nascent state of growth and development. Can you find suitable comparisons to the blossoming cherry trees, irises, American red roses, or the carpet of verdant grass on undulating hills and mountainsides? Breathe in the beauty of these sights and give thanks for the bountifulness of it all. The reality of knowing you are able to see, hear, feel, taste and smell God's wonders should motivate you to be thankful. As long as you are alive and breathing, there is always a chance for your break through. It may be the next minute, the next week or the next year, all you have to do is believe it will come and it will.
Just think for a moment, if He supplies the needs of the lowly birds and be all things to them, why do you think He will not be all things to you?
