The debate between cordless electric lawn mowers and gas lawnmowers has been going on forever. You can have people with the viewpoint that they will save the environment by using the electric lawnmower. I am all for saving the environment and recycling what we can but when it comes to electric versus gas we need to look elsewhere first. You must first look at the fact of where and how you receive your electricity for your home. If you are hooked into a conventional electrical grid in your city or town is very possible that your electric company will be using some type of fossil fuel in order to generate electricity, you need for your home, power tools, and other electrical devices. So with this in mind it is still a more environmentally friendly to use your gas law more on your home then electric lawnmower.
I can also believe that many will already disagreed with my above statements. The proponents for the electric mower, always stand pat that the more we do to help the environment, the better off we are. I cannot say that I am against this way of thinking, but we need to choose our battles well. There are way too many other factors out in the world arena that are causing far more damage to our fragile world environment. We need to concentrate efforts on taking out the world's largest polluting people and countries and then come back to reality and talk about electric lawn mowers versus gas lawnmowers. Now for the sake of debating this issue lets move on to the pros and cons of electric lawn mowers and gas lawnmowers.
Now, we have already shown that the electric lawnmower is more environmentally friendly than the gas lawnmower. This probably is the only good thing about electric lawnmowers. Moving on to the cons of electric lawnmowers, you obviously have to have a access to electrical outlet and or have a very, very, long electrical extension cord. If you are like me, you find the longer the extension cord, the more tangled up it becomes. Now, let's not forget that you now have to recoil the same tangled extension cord back up again and place in your garage. You also must be constantly vigil in not running over and slicing and dicing your electrical cord. Most always use caution when using a lawnmower, the last thing you need is to add more concerns when using a powerful piece of lawn care equipment.
Gas lawnmower does not tie you down a certain length or area before you have to stop and untangle your cord. You can tackle all terrains again without worrying about slicing and dicing your extension cord. There is also the power factor that comes into play with a gas versus electric lawnmower. Gas lawnmowers have a higher cutting capability than the electric ones do. When I refer to higher cutting capabilities. I am referring to gas lawnmower having more power. Gas lawnmowers give a much better cut to the lawn In the long run.
