Haven't it been for the language, culture would not have been given the importance to its requirement. The era of civilization gives the view of development of culture and traditions. In every civilization, a cultural development with formation of society has led us to what we are right now. Our forefather formed a cultural group taking up basic structure to a complex society we are living in right now. The starting of a culture was a seed sown for development of the society starting with language.
Taking for an example of the wild life and specifically lets take apes as an example. It can be seen that they have the highest intelligence over other mammals but it have still not come to their level of forming a society through cultural development. Their resemblance to us can be viewed from various aspects such as imitating humans, unwrapping candy cover and even washing fruits before eating it. The limitations they have in forming a cultural group as us is because of their lack in communication with each other. But if they happen to have their own media to communicate, it shows the development in their speaking which will lead to formation of group to start with a society.
We humans have always been ahead of any living creature in the world since we have always learnt to grasp and implement it for our benefit. Still if it had not been for language, humans would be similar as those barbaric primates and without a means to communicate it becomes much more difficult to share views and ideas. Even at this day, the development of society with a country being developed and another classified as underdeveloped is due to the fact of invention of language if widely looked in it. The developed countries history dates back to many centuries while the underdeveloped don't have a clear and impressive one.
Considering from geographical boundary of a country and taking it extensively to international. It can be seen the importance of the language, i.e. if a small tribe is helped out by those country which are developed and taught about life and the outside world. If it had not been for English as an international language, there is a very minimal chance of knowing about the world as we do right now. May be in that situation, this world would date back to few centuries but making English an international speech have given every society a giant leap of getting modernized and more developed.
Therefore it is vital for any culture to go through language first and to form a society having a cultural and tradition of its own, people need to communicate and understand each other more than just simple gesture talks.
