To say who are the top players in the soccer premiership, one needs to watch as many games as possible. This is something many writers do not understand and obviously write articles based on the info they find in different web-sites. The question is as hard as the answer would be. Unfortunately it is almost impossible to be unbiased writing about the top players. I have a favorite soccer team, as well as many of the writers. Therefore i will try to be as objective as i can in defining the top players of the top league.

First I will start with the goalkeepers who deserve more respect and credit than it is usually being given to them by commentators. Even sports writers who have no idea what the offside rule is know that the top goalkeeper in the English Premier League is Edwin Van Der Saar. Manchester United goalkeeper set up a record this year, achieving to keep his net clean in 13 consecutive games. Having in mind that there are 38 games for the whole season, this achievement is extraordinary and the Dutch goalkeeper is far ahead of any of the other goalies. Considering the fact that he is almost 39 years old his record is even more respectful.

The top defender this year is Manchester united player Nemaja Vidic. The young 24 year old Serbian makes a great season and it is claimed to take the Player of The Year award in England this year. Vidic along with Rio Ferdinand made Manchester United defense unbreakable. The Serbian contributed to his team success and to the record Van Der Saar achieved. Despite couple of vital error Vidic made in the game against Liverpool at Old Trafford, he is been the best defender in the English Premiership this year.

Steven Gerard is a legend in Liverpool and he deserves my nomination for the best midfielder in England . With the injuries of Fernando Torres, Gerard alone was literally pushing Liverpool to the top of the table all season long. He is been a real engine for his team and scoring 21 goals so far he played a significant role in the attack of the team as well. Gerard is an example of a team player ready to give everything for this team. His unselfishness is admirable and respectful.

Despite his 34 years old Manchester United veteran Ryan Giggs shows incredible movement and dribbling this year. He became the player with the most games in history for his team, passing the legend sir Bobby Charlton. I think Giggs had a amazing career and his 18 season in Manchester United are evidence of that. His consistency and team work
