Poetry: I love you

Staring at the plastic stars,

My ceiling burns with heat from Mars,

With songs along to sweet guitars,

This sacred place that we call ours.

My fingers trace your body lines,

As your eyes wander over mine,

Our bodies one while we're entwined,

And making such a bold design,

Relaxed without the stress of time,

We're fine.

In the darkness I can feel you breathe,

Inhale..exhale with me-relieved,

At what this struggle came to be,

And how much you got to mean to me.

So for you I already bleed,

From thoughts that you may someday leave-

Saving up those salty beads,

Of tears that I may one day need.

For now, I lay entranced in us,

My heart beating in rythmic trust,

I shiver as our whispers touch,

To brush away residual dust,

Of past pains that had hurt so much.

We're different-I can feel it through,

The energy when green meets blue,

In eyes so wide from seeing you,

Within myself is something new.

Inside this room, with room for two,

Within these paper walls of blue,

There's nothing I could rather do,

Then waste away the days with you.

In these sheets where dreams are bred,

I live with you inside your head,

No need for speech, our souls are said,

We love, then fall asleep instead,

And at this moment I am dead,

To all the worlds outside my bed.

Lets close our eyes, 'cause stars reflect,

The other worlds that we neglect,

The clock had stopped last time I checked,

As you spoke softly down my neck,

Helios shine as we perfect,

This homemade lover's dialect.

Speak language that we know we own,

Pretending that we're all alone,

We act like no one else is home,

Ignoring interrupting phones,

With heavy steps in danger zones,

We'll walk right through those warning cones,

Like graceful strides on stepping stones,

To happiness we've never known,

I marvel at how much we've grown.
