Perfect Life

Is there such a thing as a perfect life? Who in today's world lives that way? There is so much materialism and social influences that effects the way people think, feel and act.

What would be my perfect life? How would my dream life really be? What would my world be like to finish out the end my of days? End of Days? Wasn't that a movie about the end of time or a prophecy that was coming true? Definitely was not portraying a perfect life.

Perfect life? Just those words don't seem to fit together. Sure there are the few people in the world who believe they live a perfect life. I guess that is because we are happy with what life has given us, content. I once thought I had to settle for things that made me contented but not happy. They filled the void, but didn't break down the wall around my heart. Lately, I feel that wall being resurrected. I have tried to knock it down, but there are some stones there that I can't seem to move any more. Those stones are from not trusting or being betrayed. They were all gone once; once not too long ago actually, once less than six months ago.

Perfect Life? Is that a comfortable home with a husband, kids and pets? Is that a job that you love or one that provides a decent salary where you pay your bills feed your family and take a vacation once a year? Are we supposed to settle for that? Somebody explain it to me!

Perfect life? Is mine spending the rest of my days with my husband who loves me? Is it feeling secure, safe and loved? Is it knowing that my daughter and husband love me unconditionally for the who, what, when, how?

Perfect life? Can we design a perfect life? Aren't we responsible for our choices? Doesn't God give us free will so we can choose our paths? Our destiny? Is it possible for those decisions to give us the design of our paradise? Better yet, would we know paradise if it showed up as a perfect life?

What is perfection? Life itself is not perfect. Given free will, we make decisions that definitely make us less than perfect. So the perfect life, doesn't exist. However we do perfect our lives, no matter what perfected life is-

It is our choices, our decisions, our paths and our destinies, and we must live with those choices, but as someone wise once told me, it's what we do with those choices that make the difference.
