The question whether God created man or man created God is essentially the question of the existence of God as the Creator. If man was created by God, then each man could have the concept of God in his mind or he might not, but either way it is irrelevant to the existence of God as a Creator. On the other hand, if God is a "creation" of man, then the existence of God is neither certain nor uncertain. What is certain it the ability of man to imagine the existence of God. This proves the existence of our mind which has this capability of thought. But the thought of anything does not guarantee its existence.
There are many terms used to "define" God and each religion has its own particular set of parameters so it can be difficult to have a logical discussion of such concepts. This is usually where "faith" is entered into the equation, but if God is the Creator, did he not gift us with logic? Our logic is definitely not limitless, and there are many things which we will never know, but is it not true that for something to be found logical, we must at least be not able to "disprove" it?
What we refer to as "natural law" are relationships that we have observed in our physical world that we have not only evidence and physical examples to prove their validity but the lack of any facts or examples to "disprove" their truths. If God is the Creator of not only us but the entire natural world, would "natural law" which must also have been created by Him also apply to any evidence of His existence? Again, shouldn't we be "allowed" to use logic to at least disprove God the Creator if this is possible? If He cannot be "disproved" then we have knowledge of the "possibility" of His existence even before "faith" enters into the picture.
We have already mentioned God as a creation of man. This is a virtually meaningless concept and will help us little in attempting to determine if man is a creation of God. Man can create anything in his mind and it means nothing in the physical world unless he shapes his thought into the natural world. The "thought" of God, even by multitudes does not "create" God. If that were so, we could easily create world peace and plenty for all, which no matter how hard many of us think it, it will only come to pass if we actually act upon it.
A question would be "is a creator one with his creation or seperated from that which is created"? The answer to this is extremely important since it may help us to understand that if God exists as the Creator, whether
