Religion has always played a major role in human life. Whether it is a family going to church on a Sunday in the present time, or the village shaman preforming rites to make the wild game return in a paleolithic village people have always looked to a higher power for help. The higher power is the part that interests me.

No matter what the time period, either modern times or ancient Mesopotamia, the religious figure (or Gods) always came from above. It seems like a strange coincidence that no matter what the time period, no matter what the culture, the Gods always came from the sky. There have been several pieces of evidence that could point to extraterrestrials visiting this planet throughout the ages. I don't just mean in the last 50 years or so (although there is no lack of evidence in the last half century, but we will discuss that later), if we look at ancient history there is still evidence to that effect. Like any kind of record that is that old, all we can do is speculate as to the true meaning. You will have people that will swear to their own side of the argument.

Let's look at our nature. If we just look at the last 1000 years or so, humans have continually expanded their domain. It seems that we have a need to move on to new lands. People have moved around and colonised the entire planet. That seems to be a uniquely human characteristic. We feel the need to leave our mark on new lands. How did we get this desire or need?

Is it that much of a stretch to think that maybe the first humans that were on this planet were colonists from another world? A small group of settlers came to this planet to set up camp. So far that is not that odd. The Pilgrims did the same thing in the New World. Due to the great distances that you must cover in space, especially to find a planet that would have an atmosphere and temperature range that the "beings" could still tolerate, the new settlers will be on their own for long periods of time. Centuries more than likely, probably even longer.

By the time that the original race of beings that sent the colonists return to the world that they have settled, generations have passed. The original beings have long been dead. The stories that they tell could be taken as the ravings of old men. More than just ravings they have probably turned into legends and myths.

When the original beings due return, they find that the descendants of the people they left have "gone native". They don't even resemble the mother race anymore. They
