Poetry: Quarrels

by Naima Manal

Created on: March 31, 2009

I hear you,

But, then again, I don't.

Why do I have to listen to you,

As you babble?

What's a squabble?

Make sense, and stop talking,

Because that's when your words have the most meaning.

Speak,

For what?

Are you intending to make sense?

The five senses -

I can't see what you mean,

I can't hear what you mean,

I can't smell what you mean,

I can't taste the essence of what you want to say,

I can't touch the pith of your words,

So, be quiet.
