Secrets
Everyone has something to hide
A little secret that stays inside
A part of you, you'd hate to see
Ever laid out publicly
A little shame that stays around
Whenever you think it's gone to ground
A thought or deed that hurts to know
So then we laugh and let it go
No one ever has to see
That secret that lays inside of me
Lurking and hoping to get out
Lips pressed thin there's no doubt
It tries to work it's way around
But I always seem to force it down
I'll lie and cheat to keep it from you
I'd do those things, I'd never do
There is no need for you to see
The secrets that stay inside of me
