Poetry: The masks we wear

by Tiory Clark

Created on: March 31, 2009

Two of me

Sometimes I feel there are two of me

One thats good and true to thee

Then there's that other side of me

That loves to fight maliciously

To bring up things that we'd laid to rest

To drag us through that horrible mess

To bring fresh tears to your eyes

A part of me where the devil lies

Then there are times when your all I see

When I love to smell your scent on me

When your wants come before my needs

Then I start those evil deeds

I plant some doubt inside your head

and I make you question all I said

Was that truly me you hear

Or is that Satan in your ear

I sit here now and wonder why

I want to break you, see you cry

I'm not evil, I just can't be

So why is this such a part of me

Whenever smiles touch my day

I start to feel you need to pay

The tears of confusion on my face

When you finally walk away

So I need to figure out desperately

What the hell is wrong with me?
