Who makes the best cheeseburgers? A lot depends on what kind of cheeseburger you're talking about.
Some people like their cheeseburgers with everything on it. That's fine, but are you really eating a cheeseburger or a salad with some hamburger meat and cheese. Some people like it with bacon or chili.
I'm more of a purist. I like my cheeseburger with just cheese. Now you can get different kinds of cheeses too. Good old American cheese is great, but I like it with cheddar as well. When you go to some of those other cheeses it changes the flavor again.
The best cheeseburger I've eaten so far was from the Cheesecake Factory at the Inner Harbor in Baltimore. I recently went to the Cheesecake Factory at the Annapolis, Maryland Mall and got a cheeseburger.
I was very disappointed. First, it wasn't as big as the one I got in Baltimore. Secondly, they served it on a hard submarine sandwich bread. I didn't realize that the same chain of restaurants would have different ways of making the same sandwich.
The second best cheeseburger I ate was from Fuddruckers on 7th Street in Washington, D.C. It was juicy, a good size and on a delicious kaiser roll. I would recommend that place to anyone. Surprisingly, although they were very crowded, we got our food within a reasonable amount of time.
I used to love the cheeseburgers from Roy Rogers. Unfortunately there aren't any Roy Rogers around my area any more. I've seen some in Frederick, Maryland and in North Virginia. I also like the double cheeseburgers at Wendy's. They're a fairsize and have a good taste. McDonald's is okay if you want a snack, but if you want a meal I'd go somewhere else.
Glory Days in Bowie, Maryland have decent cheeseburgers, but if you ask for it to be well done be prepared for it to be very well done. Checkers also have decent cheeseburgers, but to be honest I get their cheeseburgers because I love their fries. The Checkers on New York Avenue in Washington is a good one, but I didn't like the Checkers in Landover, Maryland.
At Union Station in Washington, D.C. there is a restaurant called America. They serve sliders. That's three smaller cheeseburgers. They were okay, but nothing to write home about.
The best cheeseburgers are the ones you make at home. You can put in whatever ingredients you want, top them with whatever toppings you want and cook them from rare to well done. The cheeseburgers off the grill seem to always taste the best, maybe because you're usually eating them with friends and/or family.
I find most meals seem to taste better when you have people around you that you love.
