Men always seem to complain that they can't understand how the mind of a woman works. Wouldn't dating be easier if she just held up road signs in the middle of the date? She could hold up the stop sign if you're moving to fast, the yield sign if she needs you to slow down and maybe even blow a little whistle when you're all clear to proceed. Though you probably don't realize it, your date is doing that all the time and you just don't pick up on her signs. It's called body language and if you learn how to decode it, you're in the clear.

First let's look at the signs that means it's okay for you to proceed. A woman who's interested in you lets you know it in subtle little ways. She'll turn her body towards you, touch you and let her touches linger. She also mimic your actions. For example you might lean forward slightly and find that she does the same thing. She probably doesn't even realize that she does it, but you'll know exactly how she's feeling.

She may also take on a position that causes her to lean forward and expose the inner part of her wrist. This shows that she feels safe around you because she's exposing one of her most vulnerable parts. She'll also tilt her head to one side, which exposes her vulnerable neck. This are all signs that she's interested in you and that you're all clear to go ahead.

Now you need to know the signs that she's hesitant to move forward, which often take on the look of a nervous tick. She'll play with her hair, fidget in her seat and even tap her foot or hand. This shows that she likes you and she feels nervous around you, but that she doesn't know how to proceed. That doesn't mean you should jump across the table at her, but let her know in subtle ways that it's okay such as taking her hand.

Of course what you really want to look for are those body language signs that scream stop. You've probably encountered a few of these in your life and read them wrong. A woman who isn't interested in you will keep space between you at all times. If you take a step closer, she'll back up and if you reach for her hand, she'll put it in her pocket. She'll take on a defensive stance as if she thinks you're about to attack her and she'll probably keep her legs crossed away from you and her arms crossed in front. These signs mean to stop dead in your tracks, you're not getting lucky, do not pass go and do not collect $200. When a woman does one of these things, your chances are slim to none.
