In 1960, a brown parcel arrived at our house addressed to my 13 year old sister. No-one in the family, apart from my sister, knew what it contained. We sat watching at the living room table as she opened it, bursting with curiosity.
It contained an official letter from the Elvis Presley fan club stating that, my sister was now a fully paid-up member of the Elvis Presley Fan Club. It contained all the photographs, posters and other paraphernalia associated with Elvis Presley. That was my first introduction to Elvis.
A few days later, my sister arrived home with my dad after a shopping trip. She had bought her very first L.P. (long playing record or vinyl). It was G.I. Blues by Elvis Presley. Well we all enjoyed it immensely. My sister and I danced around the house every day for a month. I couldn't do it now for a minute.
Now, 47 years later, my sister has still got that L.P. I on the other hand was a teenager of the 1960s and went on to other things. Say no more.

Here is a brief run down of the track listing:-
Track 1. - Tonight is So Right For love. I can remember smooching to this track - too much information, I know.
Track 2. - What's she really like. (I sang this for days)
Track 3. - Frankfurt Special. Great for singing with the lads, or old men as is the case for me nowadays.
Track 4. - Wooden Heart. Still one of my all time favourite Elvis tracks. I know it's a sentimental track but I like it.
Track 5.-GI Blues. The title track of this album which is still a great dancing track, just roll back the carpet, and the years, and get moving.
Track 6.-Pocketful of Rainbows. What a great track for cuddling up to your loved one.
Track 7. - Shoppin' Around. This still gets your feet tapping as soon as you hear that first note.
Track 8. - Big Boots. Another nice sentimental track.
Track 9. - Didja Ever. Another great party song for singing and dancing along to the marching beat.
Track 10. - Blue Suede Shoes. Well what can I say?. There can't be many who have never heard this Elvis classic. It has been recorded by many artists down the years. It's simply a rock and roll classic.
Track 11. - Doin' the Best I Can. Just listen to that beautiful voice which still brings a tingle after all these years.
Now tracks 12-20. I don't know if these were on the original album. I can't really remember, but they are good anyway. They are
