Sometimes, life is like a game of checkers. Every possible move leads to your doom. The right choice is not one which will shower you with success, and secure your victory. It is one that will do irreversible damage - to what you are willing to sacrifice. It is up to you to decide what you hold more precious.
Do you live for yourself and risk your own destruction? Or do you sacrifice for the ones who live for you?
It's just like checkers.
You stand up for yourself, by yourself. Careless of the people you hurt, you strive for yourself, your dignity, and your ego. Refusing to be inferior, you make your own decisions. Emotions guide you, they empower you. This is not greatness of heart, but weakness of mind. Too submissive to control your desires, and you are too weak to ignore your emotions.
Sometimes, standing up for your rights means stomping on the rights of others. Everything that was meant to be is disturbed by your ignorance - the peace, the laughter, even the love.
When you live it through with patience, everything is safe - but you. You take in all the damage to save the ones that you love and care for. Sacrifice of your emotions, your rights. You bow down to the superiority of one, so you may lift your head in front of others. Greatness of mind? Or weakness of heart?
Every lie spoken is for nobody to believe but yourself. You lie about the peace - the love is lost, the laughter died. And then you wonder - what was the use? Whether you stand up, or you falter, you have something to lose. You haveto make a choice, but either way, you must sacrifice. Either way, you are doomed.
It's jus like checkers.
Then you wonder what the right choice is. How do you find out the difference between the right choice, and the easy one? It's simple when you jump out of your own shoes, and into another's. You know the right choice when you see it from a different perspective. When you make your own decision, you think of the emotions. You think about what will make you happier. Your choice is biased for the emotions of the present, not the after-effects of future.
When you ignore those emotions- that is when the reality behind the apparent reveals itself. You are no longer blinded by your emotions, you are guided by your conscience. This is the secret to the right choice. It's a theory, that the right choice reveals itself to everyone but the one who has to make the decision.
