taking the lives of nearly 700 people. Due to warming of the oceans along with melting sea ice, scientists are working hard with city officials to help prepare for future worse case scenarios.
Meanwhile, New York is only one of the many cities at risk. Rising sea levels will affect coastal regions worldwide. Millions may have to relocate. Fresh water supplies could be compromised. And with new research results coming in almost daily, the predictions seem to be constantly changing from bad to worse.
What's more, there is an event, taking place in the universe, which is supposed to be complete by December 21, 2012. The planets are lining up with the center of the Milky Way and according to popular belief; this alignment may cause serious changes in our climate.
Actually, a number of experts who study these things believe the alignment is already playing a big part in our climate changes and global warming; due to the fact that other planets are experiencing global warming.
Apparently, this alignment is predicted to have such an influence on our climate that as we near 2012, we could experience super-storms, mega-tsunamis, intense earthquakes and more.
What is our world coming to? With dire predictions such as these, along with their consequences such as mass migration, disease, famine, and more, what does the future hold for us, and especially our children?
According to Jesus Christ, there is a time of extreme tribulation coming upon the whole world. He said it would be, "such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be."
Matthew Mark":http://www.biblegateway. com/passage/?search=Mark%2013;&version=9; and Luke; recorded the words Jesus used to describe the things that would take place prior to the end of the age and His return.
"Nation shall rise against nation And great earthquakes famines, and pestilences fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven signs in the sun, moon, stars; and upon the earth distress of nations the sea and the waves roaring; Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken."
People around the world are scrambling to find a "safe place," away from the city where they believe lawlessness is sure to ensue once it all begins to take place. People are learning how to live without power and preparing to be self sufficient- growing their own food, learning pioneering skills and stocking up essential goods.
Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him."
To those who belong to Him, Jesus said He would be with them wherever they go. "Not a head of your head shall perish."
" if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."
Before the end of the century, much of New York could indeed be under water, along with a number of other coastal cities around the world. Nevertheless, there is a place of safety for anyone who chooses to go
"Lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world."
