Maybe this is just another old wives tale, but according to many couples, it's possible to plan the sex of your baby before it is conceived. Here are two techniques for choosing your baby's gender, whether it's a boy or a girl, many have trusted one of these techniques for planning their newest editions. If you want to keep the element of surprise alive, then please don't read any further.

Of course every new parent only hopes for the best in the health of their baby, yet others are just as concerned about their baby's gender. You'll be surprised at how many people are turning to the Internet to find out how they can increase their chances of birthing a baby boy or girl. These are the two most popular and natural ways of picking out the boy seeds from the girl seeds:

"Time is of the essence"

Understand these basic facts if you decide to use the time factor technique. Fact: Sperms are identified as "X" and "Y", the "X" sperm represent the girls, and the "Y" sperm represent the boys. So when an "X" sperm fertilizes the egg, guess what, a baby boy has been conceived. Another thing that you should know is the differences in life span and strength between the two sperms. The "X" sperms (girls) have the longer life span, but swim slower than the "Y" sperms. As for the "Y" (boys) sperms, they do the opposite- swim faster, but have the shorter life span.

There are a few ways to determine a female's ovulation period-

Taking a morning temperature before getting out of bed, if you notice a difference in temperature, it means that it's almost time to ovulate.

Purchase an over-the-counter home ovulation test kit.

Now that you understand the basic facts about sperm and ovulation, here is the equation:

If you're "shooting" for a boy, you need to aim at starting sexual intercourse at the start of ovulation in order to increase your chances of conception. This way, they'll be able to reach the egg faster in a shorter amount of time to fertilize it.

For a girl, start sexual intercourse activity 1 to 2 days before ovulation for and increased chance for conception.This is because it takes the girls a bit longer to get to their destination, so by the time they reach it, their chances to fertilize the egg is higher since the boys will already have started to die off.

"Baby Diet"

For a boy, eat a "high calorie" diet- This means eating foods high in carbohydrates.

For a girl, eat a "low calorie" diet- Eat low calorie foods like vegetables and fish.

Eating a high calorie diet doesn't necessarily mean that you can go crazy and eat anything and everything, it means that you need to consume only foods that are higher in carbohydrate content (which naturally have high caloric content). Always remember to practice good nutrition by eating well balanced meals, and only increase the "food portion"- not meal portions.
