Poetry: Lonely

by Mitchell Beanland

Created on: March 30, 2009

Feet buried in sand,
Embraced in the moment.
The warm shore gale blows.
I would marry the crisp air.
The perfect night.
This summer seems endless.
Waves lap at my feet.
The king tide rolls in.
Swells break offshore
I'm safe from harm.
The perfect night.
Sunset bounces on water,
Water cools my ankles.
I could stay here forever.
The troubles of the world.
Fade from memory.
I am alone,
Like the sky,
Like the sands,
Like the water at my knees.
Take me with the tide.
Thoughts flow better here.
Not blocked by stail air.
I need an escape.
To return to reality,
seems the wrong direction.
Serenity, surrounds me.
Waves wash around me.
Washing away the pain.
of wasted days.
I feel safe.
I never want to leave.
This is the best for me.
Life couldn't satisfy.
I take my last breath,
Under the waves I still lie.
