Most bachelors have better things to do than to cook a healthy meal. They've got sports to watch, golf to play, girls to date and the list goes on and on. Still, the fast food joints begin to get boring and the awareness that eating at fast food plates isn't all that healthy after all, makes the average bachelor want to cook himself a nutritious meal every once in a while. For some bachelors, this is the top priority.
So, here is where I come in. I'll tell you how to make a tasty and nutritious meal in very little time and there are options in the ingredients to create a variety, so you don't get bored with eating the same thing over and over again.
For these recipes, you will need a table top grill. I bought mine at Canadian Tire and there you go, I just told you where I'm from! I found it at a low cost of $49.99 and have been using it on a regular basis for the last two and a half years. It is the best investment I have ever made and you will not regret this purchase.
With this table-top grill, the recipes to follow take anywhere from 8 to 12 minutes to cook. How wonderful is that?
Recipe #1
Chicken breast, potato and zucchini
1 chicken breast
1 clove garlic
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1 potato
1 medium zucchini
Chop garlic fine. Cut the breast crosswise into 2 pieces, rub it with minced garlic, salt, pepper and lemon. Peel and slice potato into thick slices. Halve the zucchini.
Heat the grill according to the instructions that came with your grill. Set it for 4 minutes on the highest setting. Lay the chicken breast, potatoes and zucchini on the grill. Close the lid and start to cook.
When it is ready (it will beep), turn chicken, potatoes and zucchini over. Set the grill for 4 minutes and cook until done. Voila! you have a meal in less than 10 minutes
Recipe #2
1 fillet of sole (or cod)
2 tsp lemon juice
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp dill (optional)
1 sweet potato
1 green pepper
1 red pepper
3 mushrooms
Rub lemon, salt, pepper and dill into the fillet of fish. Peel and slice (thick) the sweet potato, cut peppers lengthwise into 6 or 8 slices, halve the mushrooms. Heat the grill and set for 3 minutes. Lay the fish and vegetables onto the grill. Cook until done. Turn everything and cook for another 2 minutes. Voila!
Enjoy!
