Are you a car nut? Do you think of your specific car brand several times in the course of a day; regardless of what activity you're involved in at the moment? Perhaps you like to read magazines and books about your particular car. Maybe you've purchased movies that are not Hollywood classics, but they feature the same kind of car you drive, so it becomes a "must-have." If you see someone driving the same make of car as yours, do you wave? Do you find yourself frequently visiting the toy section at a store such as Wal Mart to see if there are any die-cast models of your favorite car?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, you need to find like-minded people who share your passion for your car make. A car club will fulfill this need quite nicely. While most if not all brands will have organized groups on a national or even world level that offer membership, these are generally "owners" clubs" that offer a subscription to a quarterly magazine and the occasional discount on dealership services. You would then simply narrow this down to one or two clubs closest to where you live, and then contact them via E-mail or telephone for more information. Another way is to attend shows that feature your car brand. Local clubs put on these events, and interested individuals can sign up for membership at the registration booth. Most clubs will require a nominal fee for yearly dues that will cover show costs, newsletters, and expenses for common food and/or beverages at club outings.
There is nothing quite like being a part of a well put-together club that is devoted to a common car make or brand. The cameraderie is as close-knit as a group of firefighters or players on a sporting team. Car clubs enable members to form new and lasting friendships. Once you've decided to join one, you'll be amazed at just how many others out there share your passion. As mentioned, most local clubs put on shows during the warm months. This involves a lot of planning, preparation, and work, but it is well worth it. When
