A Mother's Nightmare
Three little children
Nodding off to sleep,
Quiet as a mouse
Afraid to make a peep.
Daddy's still awake,
Better not make any noise,
Because in this house
Daddy hates his girl and boys.
Mommy has tried so hard
To take the kids and run away,
But Daddy finds her every time
And says she has to stay.
Daddy's day was tough,
He and Mommy start to fight,
Daddy starts screaming,
Then his fists become tight.
He runs into the bedroom,
Yanks the kids from the bed,
Makes them all stand in a row,
And this is what he said.
"Everything's about to stop,
It's really for the best"
Next he turns around
And heads for a chest.
Mommy's heart skips a beat,
As Daddy gets a gun,
She follows her instincts,
Grabs the kids and tries to run.
She doesn't get far,
Only to the door,
She pushes the kids out,
As she falls to the floor.
Mommy sits up fast,
Trying to catch her breath,
It was only a dream,
But it scared her half to death.
Mommy's not a mom,
No kids or husband yet,
But this is one dream
She will never forget.

Each night they come to life as all my fears become revealed
They penetrate my thoughts, including those I thought concealed.

I'm running
Faster and faster, so afraid
Through these shadowy woods
I can't get away
There is no sun
It's been dark the

I lay down on his pillow
I quickly close my eyes
Not realizing I fell asleep
I remember all his lies
They have awakened sorrow

To rid the demons in his dark soul
To resurrect a lost love
To scoff at he above
