Poetry: The cycle of love & pain

With these eyes I have been shown the world
as my soul peers into hers with awe
I see ages of wonderment laden with strife
I see love put asunder too often
leaving pain to define life

She teaches me....
with experiences we learn to cope
as in life love and death
nothing is more important than hope

A million tears and sleepless nights
A thousand fears and a few fights
have built walls to leap over
offering a challenge to say the least
as she deserves a perfection of happiness
and anquish to fester no longer

My heart speaks only through words
personified in admiration of her elegance...
With her warm smile
her joyful laugh
her mysteriously beautiful hair and eyes
My passionate inflection has found its resting place
basking in her light, charged by her exciting energy
but are these words only passing
passing by as if I didn't try?

I wonder....
Will she listen
Will she laugh
Will she cry
Will she turn away and never ask why?

Perhaps these fears she can see
As she peers with her eyes into my soul
offering balance to an uneven symmetry
