MySpace.com is Not Just for Predators
The purpose of this editorial is to hopefully get some good recognition to the web site MySpace.com. It has become a satire for comedic shows such as Mad TV and is continuously show on the news in a negative light as being only a place for predators. While yes, it has been found that there are specific cases of the forum for pedophiles and things of that nature and that should by no means be taken lightly. But I want to also remind the public that when America Online was introduced to the public, these horrific predators were found to be preying on teens. Predators and pedophiles are everywhere and we need to protect the nave and young teens.
I joined MySpace about a year ago. At first, I used it mainly to communicate with a few friends I already knew and family. As time went by, I added my school to my profile and was able to access profiles of people I went to school with and reconnected with old lost friends. When the ten year reunion could not be done due to lack of response, Plan B reunion was able to take place through communication on MySpace.

And just recently, I am still coming to understand how tight the arms of Bipolar Disorder are wrapped around me and my life. Recently, I was feeling very down, very alone, desperately trying to make my husband and family understand some of my behaviors. I now realize that I could not make them understand the disorder when I myself didn't have enough information to teach them. I found a group named "Bipolar" and quickly joined. That was three weeks ago. In these three weeks, I have met the most amazing people and have developed friendships. I have gained so much knowledge, enough knowledge to actually begin to communicate, in a much better manner to my family, exactly why I do what a do. With the suggestions of the older people or more experienced people with Bipolar, that are members of the group, I have purchased two books, "Living with Depression and Bipolar Disorder," for me to read and "Loving Someone with Bipolar Disorder," for my husband to read. I truly believe that I would have never have gone this extra step to learn more about me if it wasn't for this
