Beaded necklaces are popular and fashionable. There are many different styles of beaded necklaces. These can fun and playful, or classy and glamorous. When it comes to beaded necklaces, there is a style to suit most anyone. Beaded necklaces can be representative of heritage or culture and/or make a statement about ones unique sense of style. A large variety of beaded necklaces can be found in stores in all price ranges from fairly inexpensive to quite costly. Fear not though, if you would like a beautiful, one of a kind beaded necklace without the hefty cost, you can make your own!
Homemade jewelry is fun to design and create. Making your own jewelry allows you to have the right accessories to perfectly match any outfit in your wardrobe. Also you can create your own jewelry for a fraction of the cost of most quality, store bought, finished pieces. Best of all, when you make your own jewelry, everything you create will be your own, one of a kind masterpiece. This article will explain how to make your own beaded necklace.
First you will need to decide upon and gather the materials for your necklace. This first step is the hardest part of the process because there are a lot of decisions to be made and many materials to choose from. You will need to decide on the length and style of your necklace, what sort of beads you would like to use and in which colors, what sort of clasp you will use and what your beads will be strung on. You can find all of these supplies at craft and hobby stores or online at sites such as abeadstore .com, jewelrysupply .com and many others.
Once you have made your selections and gathered all of your materials, the fun begins. First secure one side of your clasp to one end of your stringing material. Set the strand aside. Then experiment with your beads. Lay them out in front of you in different patterns. Arrange and rearrange the beads until you find a pattern that you like.
When you have found the pattern that you want, take up the strand which you set aside earlier and start stringing on the beads. Be sure to leave enough room at the end of your string for securing on the other side of your clasp. After you have strung all of your beads, secure the other half of your clasp to the other end of your necklace. Then snip off the excess stringing material from each end.
Your finished product will be a beautiful, one of kind necklace that is not only unique, but reflects your personal sense of style and taste. Now it is time to show off your handy work by wearing your new creation with pride.
