One of the biggest battles a parent will ever have with their children is over clothes. While no parent wants to send their child to school dressed in a manner to warrant laughter from their peers, parents just view clothing differently. Clothing serves a functional purpose and spending large amounts of money on it just is not practical, or in most budgets. There is a happy median between the price verses style war.
The Children's Place is an excellent store for price savvy parents and style conscious kids. They have quality clothes at prices similar to Wal-Mart. If you are near a Children's Place outlet, you can find clothes on sale as low as .99 cents for tee shirts. If there is not one in your area, shop online. You will not be disappointed.
Sales are a parent's best friend. Many parents do not bother with stores such as American Eagle, Old Navy and Gap because they automatically expect high prices. While their in season clothes may be pricey, their sales are excellent. This is a great way to get staples like winter coats and swimwear, buy a size up and store them away. The layered look is in style so most clothes can be worn all year long by combining it with clothes they already have.
Visiting stores like TJ Maxx and Gabriel Brothers can save you a lot of money on designer clothes. They receive the surplus, damaged or previous season clothes from designers. They sell them at prices that are way below the retail value. The advantage to buying clothes here is that they are normal made of the best quality. In addition, they normally leave the original tags with the original price on. Buying a $115 dollar shirt for $20 dollars would make anyone smile.
Years ago, you had to shop stores in the vicinity you lived and there were not a lot of options. With advancements in technology, you can now shop almost any store online. Forever 21 has super stylish clothes at low prices. There are millions of stores out there that cater to budgets without sacrificing good taste. AOL Shopping even has it set up so that you may shop several stores at once with their search feature.
EBay is another tool that can help parents dress their families. The assortment of clothes available is unbelievable. There is new clothes from boutiques or wholesalers or used clothes in every size shape and style. Parents can make things incredibly easy buy buying a lot consisting of several items. Before making purchases, be sure to check the sellers rating and feedback.
The easiest way to save money on clothes is to buy used. Goodwill and garage sales are wonderful, but they may be a bit time consuming. You must look at racks of unorganized and sometimes hideous clothes to find the great pieces. To increase your chances of finding likeable items, try visiting the Goodwill in a wealthier neighborhood or set a day aside to go garage sailing in the nicer areas.
When clothing your family, remember your children do not need a large wardrobe. If they have a handful of quality items that they enjoy, they will be much more content than if they had an endless supply of poorly made, ill-fitting garments.
