Almost every legend or myth that is born and relayed the public has been based on some miniscule amount of fact. There have been substantial degrees of skepticism that envelopes her existence but there are also some people that will swear to you that she is real. The Loch Ness monster is categorized into the same legendary group along with Big Foot, Aliens, and the Chupacabra. With every legend there is a truth.

There is a great deal fame seeker aficionados who try to cash in on the "Nessie Craze" but one cannot deny the actual witnesses and documentation that arises from their sightings. I know there is something down there but until someone can get up to twenty feet of it, there is no logical explanation for the creature that lives in Loch Ness. There would not be that many claims of the creature if something did not exist in the murky water of the lake.

When the asteroid that hit the Earth in the dinosaur age, the entire population was almost wiped out. This includes human and animal. The creatures that stood the best chance of surviving lived in the water. Who is to say that the nessies did not survive and continue to thrive after the blast? Many animals today are related to their reptilian predecessors including the crocodiles, alligators, sharks, turtles, etc. Creatures that lived in the water would grow to be over ten feet long. Most of the information from that period is based on remnants of what was left behind and speculations by so called experts in archeology.

There was a reptile that was known to the Triassic period named the Nothosaurus who bared a similar resemblance to the Loch Ness Monster. They were long necked and long tailed who ate fish as their primary diet. They ranged from a few inches to almost twenty feet long. They breathed air but most of their time was spent living in the water.

Many accounts of Nessie include the appearance of a long neck and exceeding the normal length and height of known creatures in the lake. This is conducive with the earlier known reptile from the Triassic period. No one knows how many are in the lake but we do know something. The Loch Ness Monster exists. There cannot be so many accounts of a creature that seems to make an appearance numerous times that does not resemblance out of the ordinary characteristics if there is not some truth to the allegations. The trick is who can get the closest to prove it without a doubt and give the skeptics a run for their money.
