The importance of honesty in a relationship

No good can come from a dishonest relationship. Honesty is by far one of the most crucial aspects of a relationship. Many relationships suffer from the deception of not being honest with each other. Some will tell you that not being fully honest in your relationship is to avoid hurting another, but the truth is when you are not honest what kind of relationship do you really have?

Being afraid to hurt someone can be understandable but you must always consider what the impacts can be later by not telling the truth. Sometimes being honest can be hard to hear but it is better for everyone to be honest than to be deceptive and hurt someone more in the end.

It is a fact that honesty builds trust and a strong relationship. Without it you cannot expect to have full trust. Trust and honesty really go hand in hand and what is more important than trust. If you really care about the relationship and the other person than you know how important it is to trust someone.

You may have heard of the little boy who cried wolf. Always lying and being dishonest. He spent many days making things up for various reasons and people stopped believing in what he said. Then when something real happened no one believed him as he had lost all trust and respect for him. Relationships are the same in many ways. If you are not honest you lose respect and trust and when you finally do tell the truth people don't always believe you.

One way to always look at relationships is to always know that give others the same respect and honesty that you would expect in return. When you set the example of trust and honesty you will find others respond to you in the same ways. This is the foundation of a strong and solid relationship. If you are willing to give honesty and trust than you will see just how strong relationships can be.

If you are in a dishonest relationship now you must first start by asking yourself what causes the deception. What is causing the issue and how can you get past this to build an honest and solid relationship? In some cases sadly it could mean a sad departure of the relationship, but if you truly believe in the relationship and what it can be than a few changes could mean all the difference.

Living in a dishonest relationship not only hurts the other person but ultimately hurts you. Like stated before there is no good that can come from dishonesty. As a crucial aspect to a relationship you can set the example by being honest and building the trust.
