Poetry: Soul-searching

by Karin Breuer

Created on: March 28, 2009

Jehova!

Jehovah!

Your name is a whisper

In the night

Brought to me on invisible wings

With the breeze that gently

Brushes aside the curtains in my room

And invites me to pray.

Jehovah!

I hear your name

In the crashing thunder

Rolling over the mountains

Alive with the lightning

That splits the giant cedar in one fell

And brings me to my knees.

Jehovah!

Your name resounds

In the roar of the ocean

That crashes on the rocks

Spewing white foam

Certain of its power to carve the stones

And raise my hands in worship.
