Challenging the Status Quo through Creative Thinking

What is it about those crazy individuals who always seem to think outside the box? At times they come across as being so out of touch with reality. Upon closer examination, we realize that they are really about 10 steps ahead of us in their thought processes. Somewhere along the line, wires got crossed, and we were never informed of the steps taken to reach the ultimate goal, a result of undisputed creativity.

How do they do it? Where do all those ideas come from, and how can we capitalize on their prophetic prowess? Is this some innate ability you have to be born with, or can anyone participate in the game of generating creative ideas? Have we simply neglected our own imaginations, opting to be more practical in a world that defines success through monetary values?

Creative people are the geniuses who redefine logic by challenging it. They are not intimidated by failure, nor do they dispute its worth. Their lives reflect a trial and error scenario that even the greatest minds cannot comprehend. Their gifts to society are born through reflection and observation. They are offered as expressions of love.

We can increase our creativity by being more open to the world around us. Interaction with the world does not imply participation. It does require sensitivity, and good listening skills. Creative people are tuned in, often much more deeply than we realize, to the desperate calls of society. Their ability to empathize with others, and truly listen to their hearts, enables creative people to act, and share their insights with the rest of us.

Another way to increase our creativity is to simply let go. By getting rid of the baggage that holds us back, we are free to invent new things, and develop more grandiose ideas. True creativity intercepts those ideas with structured analysis. In this way, conceptions can become real, and engage the world at large.

There is a certain fearlessness about creative individuals that baffles people who need to feel secure. They seem to extend themselves beyond their comfort level, always striving to reach a new, often more difficult, goal. Creative people are rarely satisfied with the status quo. They recognize the need to continuously learn, and find great satisfaction in their endeavors to do so.

Loneliness is often associated with creativity. These people seem to remain apart from the crowd, ever busy with their strange way of thinking about, and implementing new ideas. In reality, they are not alone, but merely comfortable with themselves.

We can increase our creativity by appreciating the need for quiet. Our world is full of stimulation, and too often it confuses the mind. The ability to step back, and limit the amount of input received, allows creativity to flow freely. Once we open the floodgates of our unconventional minds, the world at large will have a better chance of overcoming the challenges that inhibit our society.
