There is no doubt that getting ready for the vacation is exponentially harder than returning home from the vacation.
Before the vacation:
You still get up and go into work everyday.
Sally still has dance lessons.
Scott still has soccer practice.
You still have to get dinner made, laundry done, the dog fed, and all the other duties that you do every day of your life.
Now to that ever growing list, you have to add:
Decide where you are going on vacation this year. You need to find the time to peruse the numerous vacation planning guides available online to compare destinations.
Decide when you are going.
Decide how you want to travel, by cruise, by plane. drive, etc.
Decide if the kids are coming with you.
If they aren't, figure out how many personal favors you are going to have to cash in, to get someone who knows your children to agree to watching them, without causing that person a bout of amnesia first!
Then once all that is out of the way, you have to find the time to research the area you are vacationing to. What is their climate like when you will be vacationing there? Do you need to use their currency if you are leaving your home country? What is the common language spoken there?
After all that you think you would be done. You're not!
What do you plan on doing while you are on vacation? If you are going to a different county there is sure to be an abundance of things to do, places to go, sights to see. Are you planning on sitting in the hotel bar all day or do you actually want to get out and see some new and exciting things? Excursions cost money. How much money are you going to need to take with you to do the things you want to do on vacation? How much spending money are you going to need for personal things and souvenirs?
You are almost done. Now you only need to decide how many suitcases you are taking and what you are packing in them. While you also keep them under the fifty pounds they have be if you are flying and leaving enough room in them to bring back the souvenirs you planned for.
You are FINALLY able to take your vacation when you get to relax, de-stress, and unwind.
The only thing hard about returning home afterwards is the knowledge that you HAVE TO return home afterwards. Other than that, you pack up your things, board your method of transportation, and then you come home and look forward to the next vacation you have to plan. Because no matter how difficult they are to finally get to, the fact remains....they are WORTH it!
