Poetry: Lonely

To feel that something is missing,
amidst the flurry of time.
To realize that life is a blessing,
becomes difficult to watch unwind.
I sit and lay, I think and ponder;
alone at home as my mind wanders.
With not a soul but a dog to warm me
and realize that what I lack
is not that of being lonely.
Sure I may have a life,
a life of many blessings,
but it only takes a moment,
a lapse in the sconces of time,
to feel beneath the veil that covers mine
of how I feel alone;
that now my love has gone.

So I throw back my covers,
that hold my warmth and tie me down
and venture out of what I know,
that comfort zone so far below.
It is of no comfort to me now
for it threw me down to show me how,
how hard and difficult life can be,
when the last of my worries is being lonely.
It is with choice that my heart avails;
it is with action that my life will tell
to find something new, to strike a new passion,
to leave loneliness behind
and forgive what I'm lacking.

    Empty

    My bed is now empty,
    It's where you once laid.
    It held us,
    When our love was being made.

    I'm laying here,
    Wide awake.
    I wish
