We met by chance some time ago
You had to know my name
Thrown together by circumstance
And so began the game
Winking from across the room
Intrigued by your allure
Sending out mixed messages
And I was all but sure
You shut me out, and soon came back
A difficult habit to break
And wondered how you lost your appeal
And why I didn't wait
I spent time waiting patiently
Afraid to cross the line
I was a knocking opportunity
But you're just a waste of time

How do I make the ticking stop?
There aren't enough hours in the day
Most of them spent dreaming away
