In my opinion homosexuals tend to stay in the closet because of the way society judges them.
If you are gay automaically you are treated with less respect wether you are male or female.
Your basic rights to be treated as an equal are compromised by ignorant people who do not have a clue what they are talking about.
If you are lucky you may have the advantage of having parents who are willing to support you if you do decide to "come out".
This expression proves that the individual forced to hide their sexual preference for fear of being judged.
In later life if you and a partner decide to start a family the adoption process is difficult enough, but the prospect having to explain that they have two mums or dads is more daunting because of societys behaviour towards same sex relationships.
Until people in the public sector ie. politicians, teachers, show their approval of same sex marriges and adoptions public attitude will never change.
I would like to see lawyers giving more access to individuals concerning their legal rights.
Local health centres offering counselling to children and parents of gay people.
The media is a powerful tool used in the wrong way it can make or break a persons live.
In closing people should not be too hasty to judge and to allow people their rights as indivivuals to live their lives without prijudice.
