The decision to start your own business in direct selling should be the result of proper self-analysis. Direct selling is not for everyone. If you like to socialize and you generally enjoy sharing information you are on the right track. If you already have a sizable social network that you can go tell about your new venture then half the battle is won.
Avon boasts that it is the number 1 direct selling company in the world. If you have the inclination to research this claim, good luck to you, but my bets are that they are probably telling the truth. They have a reputation for quality merchandise at affordable prices. Truthfully, for many women, the opportunity to buy into a ready-made home business that comes with the security of quality assurance and brand recognition is a dream come true.
To get started on your new career, follow the steps below and you'll be cashing your first Avon check in no time.
If you are from the US go to www.youravon.com and fill out the contact form. The Avon Representative from your area will contact you soon to set up an appointment to hand over all the information, brochures and samples to get you started. This only costs US$20. If you are outside the states visit http://www.avoncompany.com/world/index.html to find your relevant representative and follow the same procedure at the same cost.
Your next step is to let all your family and friends know that you are now and Avon Lady. Be sure to give out a few of those nifty brochures. You'll be amazed at the number of referrals you get off the bat.
Always have your brochures with you. They are in essence your store front and not having access to them means you are closed for business. Do not set yourself up for failure by being careless about carrying them around, or not having a ready supply. Leave them wherever you go, that includes to the doctor or the gym (with your business card attached of course).
Be sure to place your orders on time. Remember that this is a business and you need to deliver quality service to gain repeat sales and referrals. Don't keep customers waiting longer than necessary.
As soon as your shipment comes in check your orders to ensure that they have been correctly processed. Immediately bag customer orders together with new order books to stimulate future sales.
Deliver your orders as soon as you possibly can. Holding merchandise in effect costs you money as you can't collect unless you have delivered.
Congratulations on deciding to take the step to becoming an Avon Representative and remember that the level of success you achieve is dependent on the amount of hard work you put in.
