Avoid damage to your computer: What to watch out for on the net

The internet is full of great things. The internet is full of the worst things. Both sentences are true and you need to use the internet. What shall you do?

Take care. If you know how to use the internet, if you know which things you can do and which things you should not do, you can be sure you will have a great experience.

Most internet threats come from the email. Email is the most widely used tool to communicate anything and this makes email the number one target for bad guys to send attacks to you this way. First rule to email: never open emails from people you do not know, most of the times they are not good people and they will not send you bad things like you can imagine, the email is a bomb with virus, junk, spyware and other threats. Even anti virus might not be able to deal with that so be very careful.

Next thing is never ever to open attachments even from your contact list or people you do know, this is because they might be infected and you can get something from them that you do not even know nor you not them, this already happened to me many times over...

Next thing is the toolbars you install in your firefox and also the addons. This can get you a spyware that logs your activity and can also send the bad guys information about you like your name, address, and even your password. Mozilla always advises you not to install addons from places you do not know, because they can affect your computer in a bad way.

Internet explorer is much more secure in addons because it's not open like firefox so most people are not able to do things for it like you do with Firefox.

When you are surfing the internet you must be careful not to open suspicious websites. They can install things in your computer without your authorization and also they can do other bad things to you. You can for example just open a website and automatically get a disease in your computer or laptop.

This is even worse when you are downloading files. The anti virus will always scan first what you downloaded but keep in your brain that the anti virus is not 100% fail proof so you are always running a big risk when you get unknown programs from places you do not know. This is even worse when you want to use that program on a daily basis. You have the infection open every day probably all day...

Always be super careful when you use your computer, you need to keep it sharp if you want it to be useful to you.
