"Where am I?" Megan blurted out. "I don't recognize this place. Christy where are you? I need you!"
Megan struggled to find the right path but nothing looked familiar. She didn't know where she was or how she got there. She didn't know why Christy wasn't with her since they were together most of the time.
As Megan sat there, she took a tissue and wiped the tears that flowed down her face. She wanted Christy because she didn't want to be alone and Christy always helped her.
"I hate it here. It's so dark and musty. I want to go back home."
As Megan stood up and looked for any clues that would lead her back home. When she started seeing the clues, she felt better. She continued in the same direction because she spotted more clues. Finally, she felt relieved when she arrived at home.
"Christy! Where are you?" Megan hollered out.
"Megan! I'm right here," Christy replied, as she rubbed her tawny brown eyes.
"I'm glad I found you," Megan said, as she started to calm down.
"What do you mean you found me?"
"I was lost and couldn't find my way back home," Megan replied.
"Where were you?"
"I don't know. It was dark and musty. I didn't recognize the place."
"Megan, do you know where you are now?"
"I'm home."
"Where are you at home?" Christy asked.
Megan looked around and saw that she was lying in her bed. She hadn't gone anywhere.
"How did I get in my bed and in my pajamas?"
"You went to bed last night and haven't been awake until now," Christy replied.
"This is weird. I found myself in a dark and musty area, and then I walked in the woods somewhere and couldn't find my way back home."
"You must have had some crazy dream."
"Are you sure? It seemed so real."
"Dreams or nightmares seem real, but you've been here all night."
"Okay, if you say so."
"What did you do before you went to bed?"
"I read my mystery book."
"What was it about?"
"I had a dream about a girl who was lost in the woods and couldn't find her way back home."
"Does that sound familiar?"
"Yes. I guess it does."
"You had a dream about the book you read."
"It sounds like it," Megan agreed.
"You're safe now, but it's time to get up for breakfast," Christy said.
"Okay," Megan replied, as she rubbed her tawny brown eyes.
