Poets/ Artists
Poets paint the sky with rhyme;
Weave lines that stand in time.
Grace love with captured words,
Piercing the soul like acrid swords.
Artists paint the sky with hues,
Purple and pink blended with oh's;
Quiet scene turns dramatic,
Each stroke of brush, melodic.
If poets could summon a thousand smile;
A painter could slough the vilest vile
A canvass filled with colors of love;
A work of art, no words could ever rob.

one of many children
of the soil of this earth.
and with dirty fingernails
i've crawled this
