Poetry: Speaking out

by Shonagh Speirs

Created on: March 25, 2009

Opinion.

What do you say?
What do you say?

People talking, crying, laughing,
Looking around with blinkered eyes.
Politics and crooked reasons,
They don't care who lives or dies.
Don't wanna be in no nanny state,
Don't wanna see no racial hate.
Don't wanna live no futile lie,
Don't wanna see more people die.
Send us off with guns in our hands,
Destruction and fear in foreign lands.
Dictating what to do, dictating what to be,
But you can't tell us that we have to agree!
And you can't tell us that we're not free!

What do you say?
