High school life is probably the happiest and the most carefree part of life that students often neglect their responsibility as students because of their gimmicks, bonding and other activities with their friends. But this should be also a time to start being responsible in your studies in order to become successful. You are still going to college and you have to prepare yourself to the next step in your education.
When I was in high school I didn't have good study habits. I also have a friend who was very intelligent but did not study at all. Part of this was due to family situation. Her parents and other siblings were in another province while she was left alone in our hometown to continue her studies.
She was often alone and lonely and she didn't bother about studying. She preferred to be with us with whom she felt better. The only way by which she understood the lessons was listening well to our teachers. She was always a good and accomplished student since elementary. Every year she was included in the top 5% of the class.
She would have been the best in class if only she studied hard. When she was in third year she was not able to qualify for the honor students. It made her very disappointed and she promised to do better when she will be in fourth year.
Fourth year promised to be a better year for her. During the first grading period she beat our top 1 in class in Physics. She got the highest grade and our teacher encouraged her to maintain her grade or do even better. Unluckily without someone to inspire her and push her to do better, she was once again the irresponsible student but I she was still good because she always listened carefully to our teachers and I she did whatever project we had. She was the 4th in our class when we graduated.
High school students must always bear in mind that going to school is not for fun. It is a responsibility that needs serious thinking.
I have a friend who is an accomplished judge now because she has done her very best in school even in her elementary grades. I envied her patience in studying. Her mother has instilled in all of them a good study habit that they had maintained until they finished college.
Studying is the secret to success in high school. Make sure to read your lessons every night before going to bed. Do not procrastinate. Set a time to study every night and do not study only during examinations. Cramming is not a good way of studying.
Develop a good study habit and your mind will always be set into good focus. Never say that examination is still too far and you don't need to study.
Make studying a part of your everyday activities.
Your success depends on how much effort you put in your studies. If you study hard then you will be successful but if you don't study, nothing will happen to you. It is not only studying that makes for your success. Doing your project, homework and being responsible adds to it. If you think you are doing bad, try harder. If you are good then do better until you can do it your best and for sure you would earn your success.
