Most mothers would tell you that her children were a gift from God, although being a mother myself I would tell you that it is a choice to have children. I can not honestly believe that it is a choice that is made for us, for if that was the case we wouldn't need to have sex in order to become pregnant. The bible says that we were put on earth to bare children, but that does not mean that the choice was made for us. In certain ways I suppose you could say that when we were created the choice to make us the child bearers was chosen for us, we didn't have a say in that part of it. Although the physical part of having children is solely the choice of the woman who becomes pregnant, that's not nor will it ever be a choice that is made by someone else. I wouldn't have an idea as to how the choice of having children would be made for us, it has to be a choice that we make for ourselves. It just doesn't make sense any other way, but I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason and so maybe someone did make that choice for us and we just kind of followed along with it. I highly doubt it, but anything is possible and we should look at it as a possibility.
I would like to and have always believed that I made the choice to have my children, I don't think I would be OK with someone else making the choice for me. I would feel as though I don't have a mind of my own and that my children weren'there because I wanted them to be here, but they are here because someone else wanted them to be here and I was stuck with them. That's not what I choose to believe and that's not what I chose to teach my children. I will believe that it is a miraclethat they are here and I think it's amazing that we are able to carry a human life inside of us for 9 months and produce something so precious and wonderful. If God did have a hand in making it possible for a woman to have children and he chose to make us this way, than why is it that some women can't bare children? We have to think about that. If having children was a choice that we didn't make on our own than every woman would be able to have children and there wouldn't be a need for adoption and fertility specialists. Of course this is my opinion, and many other people would say that it's a gift from God so yes it was chosen for us. I just can't convince myself that's the case, I think there is more to it and that every woman chooses to have children on their own.
