What to know about traveling in China

Traveling in China can be wonderful if you take the necessary precautions and if you inform about the local customs, food, vaccinations and also the passports you need to travel to and in this beautiful country. Planning a travel to China requires time but you will enjoy the cultural benefits of this vacation for years.

Here is some information which may help you to plan your travel to China:

* Weather circumstances

Most everyone loves traveling to China when you have most chance of good weather. China has 4 seasons which can be compared with these in Europe and America. The periods are different and vary which area of China you want to visit. There are differences between the Northern and Southern parts of this country and are also influenced by monsoons. You will have a wet and dry season. April, May, September and October are the best months if you want to visit the most popular destinations in China. It is recommended to check the different seasons in the areas of China you want to visit.

* Travel documents

You need an international passport if you want to travel to China. It is important you check it before you leave and that is valid for at least 6 months. A visa is also necessary for most parts of China and can be obtained when you go to the Chinese Embassy or Consulate of your hometown. Most tourist visas are valid 30 days prior to your travel and for a stay of 30 days. If you also want to visit Tibet you need to ensure you also ask for a Tibetan Entry Permit.

* Vaccinations

There is no obligation of certain vaccinations for China but it's recommended to take precautions and certain vacations are recommended no matter in which part of China you are traveling. There are certain vaccinations which you need no matter where you travel in China. A vaccination to prevent Tetanus and Diphtheria is always necessary, also if you stay in your hometown. This vaccination need to be done every ten years and it is important to check the last time when you had this vaccination and that you certainly have this vaccination before you travel to China.

You may best take the necessary precautions and vaccinations to prevent Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B and Typhoid are certainly recommended. These diseases can be transmitted through a virus which can be transmitted through consumption of water or food.

Sometimes you need also vaccinations to prevent Rabies or Japanese encephalitis. These vaccinations are recommended if you plan to spend a lot of time in rural farming areas of China
